MY OWN LOVE STORY

I met my husband Rick in the fourth grade in Mrs. Phelps class at Queen Anne Elementary School. I sat behind him in one of those old one piece desks with the seat attached. He liked me so much he lifted up his whole desk and dropped it on my big toe! But still, somehow I just knew he was the one for me. We dated on and off through elementary(we really did) and high school. But real life intervened, as it so often does and we went our separate ways for several years. Eventually we found each other again. I'm so happy that we did! We just celebrated our 22nd Wedding Anniversary! We have 3 children and 3 grandchildren.

Now tell me YOUR love story!

I was directing a play with a good friend of mine in college. We were holding auditions and this VERY good looking guy shows up because his car got wrecked and so he was out of a car for the semester and needed something to do. I looked at my friend and said, "NO!" I have run into him before and he is an arrogant and terrible person and he will be very difficult to work with. Well, I lost that argument. He was good, what can I say? So...alas....we cast him as Hamlet and began rehearsals. Throughout which 'Hamlet' and I fought mercilessly right to the point of him chasing me down with a drill in hand with full intent to use it. We started dating after the play ended. Not sure how that happened, but we've been happily married for eight years now!!!

Mine is a little telling about my personality. After all, I was voted biggest flirt in high school. :-P

A group of friends and I were driving to a party when the driver spotted one of his friends. He was 6'3", blonde, blue eyed, and gorgeous! This friend wanted to come with us, but there was no room in the car. I, who was seated in the back, patted my lap and said, "Come sit here!" It was love at first sight for both of us! 14 yrs. of marriage and 3 kids later, you can bet I have a hard time telling those kids how their parents met. Biggest flirt, indeed! :0)

What a cute idea!

I was a freshman in college...my first WEEK of college to be exact. I'd met a guy that I was hanging out with...nothing serious, though. We went to a campus devotional where he introduced me to his friend. We chatted, and I made a suggestion to his friend about how to wear his hair...well, his friend (and my now-husband) says it was "love at first touch". We spent the rest of college together....we will have been married 9 years in April, and I'm even happier now than I was then!

Silly story, I guess, but it's ours!

My husband and I were both counsellors at Kid's Camp, lost touch and then bumped into each other coincidentally 8 or 9 months later! We've been married nearly 12 years now...

My husband and I "met" on the phone. We both worked for the same large company. He was a software developer and I supported his software (client services). Basically I called him when things weren't working correctly - he HATED seeing my name on his phone. Despite his disgruntled attitude, I was always nice, and he thought I sounded cute...eventually we met and he wasn't so crabby!

Well my love story started 18 years ago with my best friend whom I secretly had a huge crush on. Though we never confessed our feeling we have reunited and joked about those days and are now set to wed this year :)

Maybe Happily Ever after does exist

My husband and I met as kids, constantly gave each other a hard time, became best friends in middle school, started dating in high school, stayed together through a 4-year long distance relationship (college) and I always told him I loved geese because they mate for life and I thought that was cute. =) So, my senior year of college, he took me to the pond on campus with the geese and asked me to be his mate for life. I said yes and here we are! =)

I met my husband two years before started dating, even though we had an instant connection. The first night we met, we danced and talked for hours. However, a fluke incident with my friend separated us before we could exchange phone numbers. Months later, we saw each other but both of us were in other relationships. Fast forward to two years later where we stumbled across each other and were both single. It was a whirlwind romance after that, engaged at 10 months, married 4 months later and pregnant 3 months after that. Each day that goes by still makes me feel so happy to have found my soulmate.

It is so cliche. Love at first sight.

We were at a rock climbing gym with the 20-somethings from church. We saw each other, and we stared. A LOT. He showed up at my church 2 Sundays later, and 5 days later we had our first date. 24 days later, he proposed. 4 months after that, we were married.

6 years, 2 beautiful daughters and 1 Yorkie later, he is still rocking my world!

When you know, YOU KNOW. I used to hate it when people said that, until it happened. :-)

I am one of 8 kids I am #5. My husband is one of 11 also #5. I met my husband through #1 & #3 respectfully. They married. So did #4 & #1 and #6 & #4. Currently #8 and #6 are dating. Unfortunately my husbands #s 8,9,10 and 11 are middle school and younger and I have no matches for them.

My husband and I met on a blind date when we were 27. It was set up by his mother. She was my patient at a clinic I worked at. She first met me on halloween when I was dressed as a Vampire and thought I would make a good match for her son-neither of us are goth.:) She nagged me to come to her house for dinner and I never would-I figured he had a girlfriend and never told his meddlesome mother. She ended up qualifying for a 2 year study we were conducting so I had to do something besides hide in the break room when she came. I did something I never had done. I gave her my home number. He called. Our first date lasted till 4 am where we talked sitting in his car.

We dated/lived together for 7 years then got married and have 2 children. It turned out he lived next door to one of my best friends from High School and I had never met him. It was a good thing, too. He partied through school and I was uptight. It would have never worked out.

I was in a relatively unhealthy relationship when I was introduced to my partner. We became good friends and he helped me through a lot of emotionally hard situations. He also became a wonderful friend to all of my best friends and helped them too. One of my friends was moving and he drove many hours just to help her move and then to get us all together*we all lived far apart and communicated mainly online*. We had a great weekend, all of us hanging out and relaxing. Then when he dropped me off at my place on the way back home(8 hrs from mine) we looked at each other in the eye for the first time. At that moment we knew and it was a shock to both of us. Several months later and a lot of drama with my ex*who I had broken up with the moment I realized what happened* I moved in with him and have been happy ever since. It made me believe in fate let me tell you.

Thank you for this giveaway! Specifically for giving everyone an opportunity to share their stories. It's uplifting to see happiness around you.

We worked together for a first time on a Super Bowl Sunday. We had so much fun at work that night. We ended up both getting different jobs and moving on. We met back up several years later. It was wonderful, fell completely in love, got engaged and then he was diagnosed with cancer. I lost him about 5 weeks before we were to be married. The love we had together was wonderful. He was my best friend. Love, Love is just Wonderful.
Thanks for asking, I have enjoyed the stories. Have a Terrific Day!!! and remember to tell the one you love that you appreciate them everyday.

Kitty, thanks for this opportunity.

In a nutshell:

Had my future husband in an American Literature class in community college in 1987. Lots of eye-rolling on my part as I watched him flirt with the girl sitting next to him day after day.

Disagreed vehemently with him (without actually speaking to him) on his opinion of the book The Awakening by Kate Chopin. We argued our points to the professor without addressing each other.

About a year later, I was working at Domino's Farms (the Domino's Pizza headquarters in Ann Arbor) and in to my office walks this contrary but handsome fellow.

After "aren't you?" and "yes"-type queries, we struck up a banter and after a few weeks we went out on a date, to a Tigers game.

6 weeks later, we're engaged.

This June makes 20 years of marriage.

We still can't get over the way we met-but-didn't-meet in that American Lit class. ;o)

My story shows that love can be where you least exspect it.
Everyday in school I use to see this boy. He was my friends little brother. He would say hi to me, and it always seemed like he would be around a lot. I didn't think much of it. He was the only guy that didn't make me nervous to be around. I saw him in the summer of my graduation. He grew up a lot since then, and he offered to drive me home. We hit it off, and I asked him out on a date! (I am an extremely shy person) and we have been together 8 years, married two years. It turns out that he had a crush on me for years! I still joke around with his sister saying I married your little brother!:)
Its so funny that he was there all along. I should have known since he was the only guy I could ever talk to without being so nervous!
Thats, my love story:)
Wonderful giveaway! I an enjoying reading everyones stories!

How I met my Shitzu, Stella...
I was riding down the highway with my mom and sister when I saw a car with it's trunk popped and a sign reading, 'Shitzu for Sale.' I asked my mom to stop the car and she said "no," foreseeing future heartbreak. I responded "stop or I will kill you," she pulled over:).

Laying in the trunk of the car was Stella. Shaggy, dirty and lovable! I blurted out "I'll take her!"
Stella is one, she was born in a litter with all still born puppies.

Stella is now healthy and flea free. We are so lucky to have each other.

I don't have a love story worth sharing yet (but I'm definitely optimistic) but my parents met on vacation. Love at first sight literally and it turns out that they were always so compatible despite the odds!

New reader here. What a cute idea. My boyfriend and I met on a blind date set up through a friend of a friend who met me once and declared "you MUST meet my guy friend." We had drinks at a bar here in Dublin, during which I hit my head on the staircase we were sitting under three times. I'm American, he's Irish, and I only had a month left until I returned to the states after finished my Master's degree at Trinity. Despite my clumsiness, things just clicked and I did not go back to the States. 2 month later, I moved in with him and I'm still here in Ireland. We are celebrating our one year right around V-day, and are planning a move to San Fran soon!

I had just joined a church band and my first night singing I looked out into the seats and immediately saw him. I always told my parents I would meet my future husband at church. A few weeks later he emailed me about a church group summer trip and I gladly replied. We started talking on the phone and a month later went on our first date. From them on it was history. We've been married for 3 1/2 years now with two little ones and live couldn't be any sweeter!

Almost seven years ago, in the summer of 2002 I was 18 living in Dallas, TX and my then-boyfriend (now husband) was 20 born and raised in the middle of Kansas. I met him on an online message board on bolt.com (no longer exists :( He was having depression issues and I told him how he could cheer up. He followed my profile and then saw that I had a personal website. He left me a signature in my guestbook. The guestbook only held a small number of characters and his message got cut off, but from what I could read I thought that he was dissin' my views and my openness to the world! So I wrote him this e-mail back telling him off! He wrote me back and said that it was a compliment that he was giving me and that he didn't mean to offend me. So we started e-mailing and chatting on Yahoo! Messenger everyday. We became pen pals and he would send me burned CDs of my favorite music. Then after a month we decided to be exclusive. We sent home videos to each other, video chatted, talked on the phone with 600 min. calling cards. We would say, okay let's only use 30 minutes a day and end up talking for 4 hours! LOL. We saw each other every 3 months for that first year, then one day he said, "how much would it cost for me to move down there?" and I said "I don't know I'd have to look into it." Basically he moved from Kansas to Dallas, TX for me. Granted all we could afford was a studio apartment in the middle of a very poor community, but we did it anyway so we could be together. Then one year after that his dad died saving a girl from a burning truck. He earned a Carnegie Gold Medal and his name was Kevin Shaw. We then moved up to Kansas to be close to his mother. I was here with him mourning the loss of his best friend he called dad. Now, it's 2009 and we've since then had a beautiful baby girl named Sydney and have been married since April 2007.

My husband is the boy next door. Well, kind of. I was working in a jewelry store in college and a guy came in one day and told me that his boss, who'd just opened a store one shop over, made jewelry too. Not long after, I met his boss and was pleasantly surprised to find a handsome redhead who shared many of my interests. I introduced him to my boyfriend at the time, who I planned to marry and with whom he also had a lot in common. It was a 5-minute conversation at most and boyfriend took an immediate and inexplicable dislike - he clearly felt very threatened. School started back up and I stopped working at the store. A few months later, my relationship ended suddenly and I felt like a total mess. I ran into the redhead again and we started talking; I was amazed by his kindness, and we had even more in common than I realized - he'd been a friend of my one of my neighbors when I was growing up! Our friendship grew into a romance and we've been together for over a decade. Guess my ex had better relationship radar than I did!
